www.URhealthstyle.com is a site to help teens find health info and services in Massachusetts that meet their needs. All of the places listed want to be included on this website, because they want teens to know about their services.
The website and campaign are projects of The Medical Foundation (TMF) and are paid for through contracts with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Department of Education under a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
In 2006, TMF talked with teens and staff in organizations who serve teens. While there are many free and low-cost places for teens in Massachusetts to get health services, many young people didn’t even know about them. Teens needed a way to find what they wanted, where they wanted. “URhealthstyle” was created to give young people an easy, private way to learn about health services and find services that are teen-friendly.
TMF worked with Artists for Humanity (AFH), a Boston youth arts agency, to develop the URhealthstyle website and campaign. All of the artwork on the website and on posters, promo cards, and bus and train station ads was created by teen artists at AFH.
Launched in May 2007, the website was promoted to teens in Massachusetts through advertising on buses and in train stations, street marketing, and posters and promotional cards.
